The Odlum Brown VanOpen is pleased to announce that former World No. 19 Alexei Popyrin has been awarded a wild card into the men’s main draw for this year’s ATP Challenger Tour event at Hollyburn Country Club.

The 26-year-old Australian reached his career-high ranking last August and brings a high-calibre resume to Vancouver, highlighted by three ATP Tour singles titles, including a massive ATP Masters 1000 breakthrough at the National Bank Open in Montreal two years ago. He is also widely recognized for his historic performance at the 2024 US Open, where he upset then-World No. 2 Novak Djokovic en route to the fourth round.

Popyrin’s inclusion adds Grand Slam pedigree to an already competitive men’s player field. As a former champion on the ATP Tour, his presence elevates the draw and provides local fans with a unique opportunity to witness an elite, top 20 talent competing in Vancouver.
